NEW ADMISSIONS TO OMASHRAM OLD AGE HOME.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW INVITED FOR ADMISSION TO
OMASHRAM OLD AGE HOME – UNIT 3.


The 3rd Unit of Omashram old Age Home at, Vijaya Bank Layout, Belikahally is now fully ready for occupation. Two Units that are functioning have accommodated 20 resident elders. The new Unit will add another 15 more resident elders bringing the total number of residents at Omashram Old Age Home to 35 residents. Applications are now invited for new admissions

Omashram is a charitable trust (established in 2001) formed with the main objective of providing succour and care for the old. With this objective in mind the trust has established an old age home in a peaceful and quiet lacality that provides clean and hygienic boarding and lodging facilities with nursing care and medical attention. It’s a “Home Away from Home” with homely warmth and comforts. Senior citizens about the age of 60 – both male and female are admitted.

Facilities for Day-care and short-term are also available.

On the morning of May 22, Rtn M. Subramani, President, Rotary Club of Bangalore Koramangala (R.I. Dist. 3109) and Rtn. Manivannan, Treasurer dropped in at the new Unit of Omashram Old Age Home and presented 10 brand new steel cots, a much needed furniture item for the new Residents of Omashram. Rtn. Subramani had taken the trouble of visiting Omashram the previous week to ascertain the nature of donation.

Happenings at Omashram 8.

Thank you iPass Charity Group, for your timely aid.




iPass group of employees concerned for the Omashram Elders came forward to Omashram’s aid and dropped in personally with gifts for the new premises on Sunday, May 17, 2009 with many needed items for the New 3rd Unit of Omashram which is getting ready.

The items donated are as follows:
1. 2 Aquaguard Water Filters
2. 4 Sanyo Emergency Lights,

3. 6 Plastic Buckets & Mugs
4. 20 Steel Plates
5. 20 Steel Tumblers & Spoons
7. A hamper of variety of fruits for the Elders
8. And Rs. 3,500 direct credit to Omashram account for purchase of 10 mattresses for new cots.
Four out of eight members of the group could came personally. The members who came on the visit are:

Murali Chakravarthy, Sunitha Sampath, Sampath Prahalad and Bhaskar Ramaiah

The other four members of the Group are: Kalind Shah, Umashankar Kamath, Vadivel Subramaniyam and Sujith Varijakshan

Beaming resident receives the gift of an alarm clock

On May 8, 2009 members of the Pihlips India Secretaries’ Group, escorted by Ms. Aruna of NGO Fundraisers, visited Omashram Old Age Home, Bangalore and spent some warm and memorable moments with the elderly residents.
The Group gave a very useful personal gift to each of the twenty elderly residents of Omashram - A beautiful small alarm clock.
And for the new premises which is getting ready to accommodate 15 more elderly, they donated quite a few useful Items:

Happenings at Omashram 5.

Omashram Old Age Home is happy to announce the opening of its 3rd Unit in Bangalore.

Happier still, because we will be able to look after 15 more distressed elderly.


The third unit of Omashram is now open for admission to persons above the age of 60 years.
The Unit is located in Vijaya Bank Layout, behind IIM, Bilekahalli, Bangalore 560 076. The house is located just one hundred metres from our Unit no.1. This unit will extend residential accommodation to additional 15 aged individuals bringing the total number of residents at Omashram Old Age Home to 35 persons.

The new unit is an independent unit with fully equipped kitchen facilities, and supporting staff including geriatric nurses, cooks and attendants.

The Board of Trustees of Omashram Trust gratefully acknowledges the support provided by NGO Fundraisers who have helped us considerably by raising funds for starting this new unit.
